Desert Club Estates in La Quinta, California, was once an exclusive adult playground in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Known as the Desert Club it was a magnet for movie stars like Rita Hayworth. There were many poolside parties and visitors were told to wear anything they wanted, from “dress clothes to dungarees”. Advertisements described this club as the place where winter never comes.
Nowadays you’ll see families and children swimming here at the Fritz Burn Park and Community Pool. The Desert Club Estates is now an eclectic neighborhood with home prices largely dependent upon the size of home you are seeking. These are single-story homes with private pools and no home owner’s association obligations.
The Desert Club Estate homes were built from the 1980’s to 2007. The semi-custom and custom homes are located on large lots overlooking scenic views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Many of these houses embrace the desert retreat ambiance with gated front entrances and landscaped courtyards with sparkling fountains. You’ll find 12-foot ceilings throughout and an incredible floor plan with spacious entertainment rooms. Three entries open out into a shaded patio, custom saltwater pool, waterfall jetted spa, and even sometimes a commercial mister system. Many of the homes have three bedrooms and two and a half baths as well as gas log fireplaces, and large viewing windows. The kitchen is fully equipped with granite tile counters, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, bar height dining for four, and a separate laundry room. There are also three-car garages with plenty of room for storage.
As a resident of La Quinta, you’ll enjoy discounts to play golf on the Arnold Palmer Classic Course, featured at the nearby SilverRock Resort. And Desert Club Estates is just across the street from the La Quinta Civic Center and a few blocks from shopping, dining, and entertainment in the charming Old Town La Quinta.
